Baba closes 6 carenderias near GCGMH and quarantines carenderia staff

Mayor John Geesnell Yap II orders closure of six (6) carenderias near the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).

He has also ordered the quarantine of the carenderias’ staff as he confirms reports that a person who was a watcher of a hospital patient, turned out to be Covid-positive.

The mayor made this announcement on social media through his verified Facebook page on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

The mayor added in his post that the Covid-positive watcher ate at carenderias or restaurants near the hospital on August 19 and 20, 2020. The mayor said the person is from another town in Bohol but he did not disclose which town.

Moreover, Yap said the Covid-positive person attempted to enter a commercial establishment, but was unable to do so, as the establishment was still closed at that time.

He said that the carenderia staff are now under quarantine and will be subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on the fifth day from the date of presumed contact with the Covid-positive watcher.

Yap is asking people who ate at any of the carenderias near GCGMH on the said dates to contact the numbers 09616189368 or 09959500381, as part of the contact tracing activity of the city.
