The lockdown in Guindacpan Island in Talibon stays until August 31, 2020, Talibon Mayor Jannette Garcia said in a post appearing on the official Facebook page of the Municipality of Talibon.

The mayor said that the implementation of the lockdown is per the Regional Inter Agency Task Force (R-IATF) Resolution No. 27.
The lockdown started on August 20, 2020, the mayor added.
On August 17, 2020, the mayor ordered a localized quarantine in the island following the report of a Guindacpan Island resident who was then suspected as a Covid patient. The resident died on August 16, 2020 and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result was released on August 17, 2020.
On Friday, 11 persons from Talibon tested positive for Covid. About 10 of those who tested positive were from Guindacpan Island and the remaining one (1) Covid-positive patient is from barangay San Jose also of the same town.
Moreover, Garcia said that one of the 10 Covid-positive patients is now at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH)after showing symptoms of Covid infection. All other Covid-positive patients from Talibon remain asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, the town government already sent relief goods to the residents of Guindacpan Island. The provincial government also did the same. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the initiative of Second District Cong. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, also sent relief goods to the residents of the said island community.
