Mga Tunóg ug Tingog(Sounds and Voices)

Ang Binisayâ ug Ininglis maoy mga pinulongan nga daghan og mga ngalan sa mga tunog ug tingog. Apan ang Binisayâ labi pang daghan og mga ngalan tungod kay daghan kini og mga ngalan nga suhid-pulong (onomatopoeia) o mga ngalan nga mosuhid lamang sa tunog nga madungog.

Ang Ininglis aduna lamay pulong “knocking sound” apan sa Binisayâ himoon kining “tagaktak”, “tagúktok”, ug “tagiktik”. Aduna usab kitay “kagalkal”, “kagulkol”, ug “kagilkil”. Usa ra ka pulong ang Ininglis apan daghan na nga mga pulong ang Binisayâ nga aduna nay lahî nga ipasabot.

Atong tukibon karon dinhi ang daghan kaayong mga pulong sa Binisayâ kabahin sa tingog ug tunog nga gilangkob lang sa Ininglis nga pulong “sound”. Dili natò matalà ang tanan kay hilabihan kini ka daghan. Ania ang dili hingpit nga talaan:

1. sound¹ (buzzing sound of wind) – bulagáit, lugáit, mádhos

2. sound² (buzzing, hissing sound) – aguyóng, hádyong, hagóng, badyóng, bagiyos, hagiyos, hagáshas, kanáas, hagbuyóg, hagúnghong, hagunóng, hagunós, huguyóng, dagúhong, huligong

3. sound³ (clicking sound) – hágtik, tagiktik. Syn. tagaktak, tagúktok

4. sound4 (creaking sound) – agík-ik, igot

5. sound5 (dull sound, as bell) – bungol

6. sound6 (give a signal by sound) – patingog

7. sound7 (give an impression; sounds like) – murá, mura og

8. sound8 (grating, metallic sound) – alingisig, alingisngis

9. sound9 (grinding by teeth) – kagitkit, kagubkob, kágot, hulábtik

10. sound10 (hollow sound) – hagábhab, hagúbhod, hagál, hagálhal, hagánghang, hagdál, hulákdol

11. sound11 (loud reverberating sound) – agúng-ong, lánog

12. sound12 (low hollow sound) – bagúbho, hagúbhob. Syn. kagawkaw, hulagpo

13. sound13 (low moaning sound) – agúlò, dághong

14. sound14 (muffled sound) – hagubhod, tagubtob

15. sound15 of bells) – bágting, hulágting. Syn, tagingting

16. sound16 (of boat when beaten by oars) – hulákdol

17. sound17 (of boats when berthed) – hukandól

18. sound18 (of boiling liquid) – bulo, kuló-kuló, kaladkad, kanáas

19. sound19 (of boxes, doors, windows, etc. when forcibly closed) – hulangkob

20. sound20 (of building, tree, etc. as it falls) – húgpaas

21. sound21 (of coins and metals) – halanggánay, hunggánay, halungákay, tagingting

22. sound22 (of cork when pulled from wine bottle; pop) – hugálbot

23. sound23 (of crocodile when it closes its mouth) – hulangkob

24. sound24 (of drumbeating) – bagúkbok. Syn. batingal

25. sound25 (of explosion) – aláktok, butó

26. sound26 (of falling flat objects) – hágpà, hágpak, lágpak

27. sound27 (of flapping rope, cape, skirt, etc.) – hamitan. Syn. lagapák

28. sound28 (of flowing water) – hagúmis. Syn. hagiyos

29. sound29 of grasses when walked upon) – hagugáhay. Syn. haganás

30. sound30 (of grinding by the teeth) – agúot, kagubkob

31. sound31 (of leather when ripped off) – hulagnit

32. sound32 (of legs when pulled from the mud – hugálbò

33. sound33 (of logs when dropped) – hugálbong, tugálbong. Syn. hungkagol

34. sound34 (of loud wailing cry) – ijagák, iyagák

35. sound35 (of many people shouting together) – húgyaw. Syn. insay

36. sound36 (of pipe organ) – agimod

37. sound37 (of pointed instruments punched on an object) – hulagtób

38. sound38 (of porcelain or ceramic when struck) – hulagákà

39. sound39 (of running water) – daganás, haganás

40. sound40 (of seeds inside a pod) – kagáykay

41. sound41 (of small bells) – alingáging, tagingting

42. sound42 (of snoring) – hagin, hágok
