Panglao mayor Leonila Montero declares that the town government’s budget for 2021 is pegged at P 191 million, which is P 13 million less due to the pandemic.
Montero made the declaration during a gathering of heads of offices at the Panglao Cultural Center on Friday, August 14, 2020.
Likewise, she discussed the annual investment plan of the town, during the said gathering on Friday.
The mayor said that the P 191 million is the town’s budget two (2) years ago.
“A huge part of the pie of our local income comes from the tourism industry. If we need to improve our revenue through this channel, we need to be more creative in our demand creation because Albert Einstein, the father of the theory of relativity, has once said that: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different and better results. With this, we have to innovate in our promotion by basically improving tourist facilities and discover new attractions”, Montero said.
