Unidentified gunmen shoot dead a retired police in Panglao

Unidentified gun men shot dead a retired police officer in Panglao town on Friday, August 21, 2020.

According to reports the victim is identified as Ramon Bolongaita, a retired police officer, of barangay Bil-isan, Panglao town.

The victim was shot dead by still unidentified assailants, who were riding in tandem, at barangay Poblacion, Panglao, the same report said.

Initial investigations done by the Panglao police reveal that witnesses heard three (3) gunshots, after which the witnesses checked the area where the gunshots originated and found a body, bathed in its own blood, and already lying on the street.

It was reported by winesses that the assailants were wearing jackets with hoods.

Based on the CCTV footage, the victim was riding his bicycle and was trailed by unidentified persons riding a motorcycle, prior to the shooting.

Police recovered three (3) 9 mm. shells at the crime scene.

The victim sustained three (3) gunshot wounds, which caused his instantaneous death, according to the report.

Currently, Panglao police are conducting follow-up investigations to determine the identity of the assailants.
