The containerized polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratory of the provincial government is inaugurated via simple blessing rites.
The blessing ceremony happened on Monday, August 24, 2020.
The laboratory is located at the Bohol Medical Care Institute compound in barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City.
Gov. Arthur Yap was on hand during the blessing of the containerized PCR laboratory.
The members of the media were given a short tour around the PCR laboratory, facilitated by the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez.
Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto said the laboratory passed the proficiency test given by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and was able to get a perfect score in the proficiency test.
However, the laboratory is awaiting for the license to operate from the Department of Health.
According to Capitol information head, Kevin Damalerio, the license to operate is expected to arrive within the week.
