LGU-Tubigon holds planning, budgeting workshop

The Executive-Legislative bodies of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tubigon holds the annual strategic planning and budgeting workshop for fiscal year 2021 and successfully crafted the town’s budget for next year at the Tubigon Administrative Building. The worshop happened last August 18 to 20, 2020.

This year’s annual planning and budgeting workshop is special since the two (2) bodies discussed and formulated a blueprint towards recovery amidst the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus disease (Covid).

According to reports, the LGU is expecting a drastic reduction in the local income due to the economic recession.

This year’s budget planning workshop is more challenging as there is a need to consider the limited resources of the town in order to fund the town’s Covid response measures, at the same time, initiate an economic recovery program which focuses on stimulating local economic activities and livelihood.

With the pressing issue of Covid pandemic, the strategic planning and budgeting workshop is seen as a huge challenge for the LGU. The next year’s budget will give focus on public health safety without compromising basic services, infrastructure, economic growth and resiliency.

Moreover, LGU-Tubigon’s Executive and Legislative members settled on a common vision for the town, which involves various programs, projects and activities that will help Tubignons to be resilient and adaptive amidst the enormous challenges and changes brought about by Covid pandemic.

Driven by a common vision, the Executive-Legislative bodies of the LGU of Tubigon successfully crafted the town’s budget for 2021 ready to be presented to the Municipal Development Council.
