All these maKe my day!
What usually make my day?
One is Pundong Pinoy. This is now shown on Cignal One channel for the Sunday mass with Archbishop Broderick Pabillo. This is after the healing mass officiated by Fr. Gomez while the others are off the air with ABS-CBN. Archbishop pabillo’s homily last Sunday was about Pundong Pinoy of Caritas Manila. The 25, 25 centavo coins have reached 400 million marks intended for housing and other needs of the less privileged. The funds are also used for Covid needs.
I am just thinking, how can we be of help to our parishes? Personally, I feel isolated with the present state. Mabuhi ang ako dugo ug dunay procession molabay. Pero, palihug, mahimo ba ug dilli lang magpagawas ug kanang mura ug sabot? If you wish to donate, please use an envelop. Palihug isulod lang ang imong donasyon sa sobre ug ihatag sa mo-uban sa prosesyon. Mura man gud ug nagpalimos ang Birhen. Or if you wish, please send your donation or your mass intentions to the parish office. This is my personal feeling and observation. This is just my personal feeling.
Another upper for me is The Agenda of Cito Beltran. Viewing the television and The Agenda everyday, Monday to Friday, makes us gather together to have a common feeling that we could have more information on the prevention of Covid rather than on the number of cases of infected persons, deaths and the arrival of equipment and swab tests, or the vaccine.
I also feel inspired with the songs of my great singer, JMC. He is Jose Mari Chan and Christmas is in the air with Jose Marie Chan’s songs. Listening to his songs cheers us all, coupled with the news that the covid curve is slowly flattening. This, of course, comes from Dr. David of the University of the Philippines. Now, i fully understand the flattening of the curve and its full meaning.
Then there is Pinoy Academia, a group composed of those in government and the academe. Some members of this group became the resource persons on the anti-dynasty bill at Cito Beltran’s show, The Agenda. Who were there? Senator Franklin Drilon, Congresswoman Estela Qimbo, and Dean Teehankee of De La Salle University.
Senator Franklin Drilon is the author of the bill for the enabling laws on the anti-dynasty bill. Congresswoman Estela Quimbo is famous for her “Economics of Political Dynasty” and the electoral process in the country. She is one feisty woman, one time chair in the College of Economics at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. The final speaker was Dean Teehankee of the University of De La Salle and he spoke on the statistics of political dynasties. In his presentation, he said that more than 70,percent of our leaders in the two houses and local executives come from political dynasties and a grim picture is such that 10 of our poorest provinces are ruled by political dynasties.
The conclusion of the discussion: Electoral reforms are not possible in the country since 70 percent of the members of Congress and the Senate come from political dynasties.
I have to view The Agenda tomorrow at 8 in the morning for the continuation of the presentation.
All of the above make my day, everyday!
