After the streetlighting in Calceta Street, two (2) new locations shine brightly as City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II graces the ceremonial lighting in Tamblot and B. Inting streets, according to a report by the City Media Bureau.

Yap was with Punong Barangay Nick Besas, Kagawad Grace Melgar, Kag. Dionisio Cullano, Kag. Jaypee Lugod and Engr. Felito Francisco, during the ceremonial street lighting.

The modern street lights project provides a number of important benefits in the community. It promotes security in urban areas thereby increasing the quality of life by artificially extending the hours of light so that activity can take place even at night.

Street lights also improve safety for drivers, riders, and pedestrians.

It can be remembered that previous to the street lighting activity in Tamblot and B. Inting streets, major thoroughfares in the city were already provided with street lights. The areas installed with modern street lights include Graham Avenue, CPG North to Brgy. Ubujan, Petron Dampas to National Food Authority (NFA), CPG East Avenue Caltex station to Bool-Baclayon Boundary, and Enerio Street to Dampas Elementary School, information from the City Media Bureau reveals.

Mayor Yap has been focused on providing sound infrastructure ever since he assumed the top post in the City Government.

To date, out of the 90.71 kms. of city roads, which need to be concreted, the City Engineering Office under the direction of Mayor Yap has concreted 61.47 kilometers of city roads, the same information from the City Media Bureau adds.

Mayor Yap said that infrastructure projects will always be a priority for the City Government.
