A Boholano is the new chief of the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) starting Sept. 9, 2020, reports obtained by The Bohol Tribune say.
Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, a native of Panglao, is the new director of PRO7, which covers the Central Visayas region that includes Bohol.
According to the same reports, he replaces Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro.
Ferro is now the new Director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Southern Luzon.
First district Board Member Ricky Masamayor confirmed the reports about the relief of Ferro and the assumption of Estomo, as the new PRO7 chief.
Masamayor told Capitol beat reporters that he was informed by Col. Joselito Clarito about the new development in the PRO7.
The reshuffle of involved PNP personnel was ordered by new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan, the reports bare.
Moreover, Estomo is a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1986, the same reports reveal.
