Tagb. infra projs. continue despite Covid crisis

Infrastructure projects in the city continue despite the impact of the pandemic. This is the statement of the city government as it announces the start of the concreting project at F. Dagohoy Road, starting at the San Isidro Church to the Tiptip Covered Court.

This means that despite the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the programs and projects of the City Government of Tagbilaran will continue.

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II said that people need to look forward to the future and not dwell on the difficulties of the past and the present. He said:

“We may have been delayed by the challenges brought about by the threat of COVID-19, but we won’t stop achieving our targets. We will not stop growing and we will look forward to the things that we have planned out to do prior to this pandemic. It’s not important what have happened in the past, the important thing is where are we heading. We will keep our priorities in focus.”

For his part, City Engineer Teodoro Estoque said that the road concreting activities along the roads going to the City Health, City Engineering, City PNP, and Office of the Senior Citizens are already completed. Engr. Estoque also said that the rehabilitation of the City Engineering Office is done.

These are the other statemens of the city government regarding the road projects in the city:

• The construction of the new tennis court near the covered court is also in progress.

• There is also the centerpiece of the infrastructure projects in the city which is Phase 3 of the City Hall Landscaping project featuring the Musical Fountain.

• Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project, involving site development such as the parking area, pavements, drainage, greeneries, and fences, are done.

• The last phase will focus on the water fountain, benches and sidewalks.

The City Government Building, a prominent city landmark, is attracting visitors especially now that the project phases are nearing their completion.

Tagbilaranons will surely be delighted once the Tagbilaran City Park is finished.

The park is an infrastructure project located at behind the city police station building. Here a nature park will be built.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in partnership with the City Government of Tagbilaran poured in financial grants to complete the projects.
