INB’s RICH FAUNA. Photo 1 shows a green turtle being turned over to the Inabanga Department of Agriculture and Fishery and released back into the sea (photo 2). The turnover was on September 8, 2020. Also on the same day, a young crested serpent eagle (photo 3) was turned over to the same body indicating Inabangnons’ love and concern for wild animals including biodiversity. The eagle was then handed over to the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The 10.9-kilogram green turtle was rescued by local fisherman Rainero A. Betinol from his fish cage in Sto. Niño, Inabanga while the crested serpent eagle was rescued by Barangay Councilor Junrey Reyes (photo 4) from Poblacion, Inabanga. Mayor Roygie Jumamoy encourages the locals to continue saving wild animals and replicate Betinol and Reyes’s exemplary act to protect Inabanga’s rich wildlife because their mere presence indicates a healthy ecosystem.(Inabanga Communications and News Service / ICoNS)
