BIDEF conducts public forum in 3 towns

In light of the coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic, the Bohol Integrated Development Foundation Inc. (BIDEF) conducts public forum on disaster risk reduction initiatives in three (3) towns.

The BIDEF conducted the forums through the project dubbed as “Disaster Risk Reduction Initiatives in Vulnerable Areas Toward Effective Governance and Resilient Communities” or DR²ILLS, information from BIDEF said.

The recently conducted the public forum on Sept. 3, 4, & 9, 2020 in the municipalities of Loay, Loboc, and Sevilla. 

The resource speakers for the activities were experts and other health professionals from the Municipal Health Office. 

The theme for this year’s forums focused on the updates and recent developments of the Covid pandemic that has affected not only the livelihood of certain sectors in society but also the way people are living their lives.

Moreover, the activities have provided an avenue for the municipal local government unit (MLGU) and barangay local government unit (BLGU) officials to once again share, sit and discuss all their actions and plans in fighting the spread of the virus.

Moreover, the officials shared experienced and best practices in handling the returning overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)and locally stranded individuals (LSI) back to their towns and the emerging threat and high possibility of local transmission. They also levelled off all their actions, strategies, issues, and concerns since the pandemic started in the early months of this year but also the best practices that they have shared based on their own experiences in handling the issues in their respective jurisdictions. 

The activities turned out to be emotional as the participants shared their experience in serving their people. (Josueh M. Gulayan)
