Police arrest man for frustrated homicide

Police in Ubay arrest a man for alleged frustrated homicide. The arrest happened on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, in barangay Katarungan, the police report provided to The Bohol Tribune by authorities from Camp Dagohoy says.

The report further states that the suspect is identified as Bernabe Valleser, 72, of barangay Katarungan, Bohol.

Furthermore, it was alleged that the suspect hacked the victim identified as Joselito Valleser, 33, also of Katarungan, Ubay.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was walking towards a store to buy some kerosene as the suspect approached the victim on Sunday. The suspect was allegedly under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident.

The suspect asked the victim regarding a case filed by the latter against the former reportedly involving a goat allegedly killed by the suspect.

After a brief moment, the suspect reportedly drew his bolo and allegedly hacked the victim, thrice. The victim was then brought to a nearby hospital due to the sustained injuries.

The suspect fled but was arrested by Duero police. A police officer from the Duero group station turned over the suspect to Ubay police an hour after the incident.
