DOT’s Romulo-Puyat meets Panglao’s Montero

Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, meets the Local Chief Executive (LCE) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Panglao, Leonila Montero, during a brief luncheon meeting.

The luncheon meeting transpired on Friday, Sept. 25,2020, at Amorita Resort, Tawala, Panglao, immediately after the Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary arrived at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport.

Montero was accompanied by Councilor Amira Alia Montero-Caindec, chairperson of the Committee on Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Sangguniang Bayan of the town of Panglao, formally welcomed the DOT head.

The Lady Mayor casually presented to the DOT Secretary and her group, a progress report concerning the readiness of the Municipality of Panglao (the tourism hub of the island province, Bohol) in receiving and accommodating tourists and visitors who wish to visit the island paradise once commercial flights shall have resumed.

Snorkeling guides meet Panglao mayor

Panglao Mayor Leonila P. Montero is meeting snorkeling guides from barangay Tangnan as the latter sought an audience with her to discuss the readiness of the team the moment visitors, who are snorkeling aficionados, will soon come in batches and explore the waters of Panglao.

The meeting, which took place at the Mayor’s Office on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, was also attended by Lino Sumaylo, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer-Designate.

Montero focused the discussion on her reminders on the strict implementation of the guidelines set by the Panglao-Inter Agency Task Force(P-IATF) in the conduct of tourism-related water activities.

Montero addresses PhiTEx delegates

The event, which happened on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at a Panglao resort, was attended by dignitaries coming from the national and provincial governments.

Several tourism package sellers in the Philippines attended the convention. According to the latest report, an initial P15.6 million in revenue has been projected from deals closed between local sellers and foreign buyers at the recently concluded hybrid convention.
