Dauis Covid patient set to be placed in isolation facility

The latest Coronavirus disease (Covid) patient from Dauis is set to be isolated in a barangay isolation facility as the patient gets discharged from a local hospital.
The patient will brought to the isolation facility late Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, according to the Dauis mayor.

This was the revelation of Dauis Mayor Mirriam Sumaylo in a radio interview on Tuesday on Open Forum hosted by Ardy Batoy and Dave Albarado.

The Dauis mayor said the patient who is a child aged one and a half years old, already recovered from his/her symptoms after getting admitted in a local private hospital.
She said that the patient was rushed to the hospital on Oct. 2, 2020 after developing fever, which is one of the symptoms of Covid infection.

The mayor was not told whether or not the child exhibited other symptoms.

Moreover, the Dauis mayor added that upon admission the patient was subjected to a swab test and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) result was released only on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020.

Furthermore, Sumaylo bared that the child belongs to a household with six (6) members and all but the child showed symptoms.

As of the moment, the local government unit (LGU) is trying to probe where the child contracted the virus.

Sumaylo mentioned that the child’s father has a work colleague, a driver from Tubigon who allegedly tested positive for Covid.

The child’s parents will be subjected to swab tests on Tuesday to determine if they are infected with the virus causing the Covid.
