City kagawad mulls karaoke ban on weekdays

(with reports from DCR, DSA, GAB)

A city councilor is mulling the ban on the use of karaoke and similar sound systems in order to let students who are studying in their respective homes have some peace.

This is the revelation of Kag. Eliezer Borja in an interview with The Bohol Tribune on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020.

The alderman is set to file the proposed ordinance for second and third reading this Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).

The proposed ordinance calls for a 24-ban on the use of loud sound systems and karaoke machines in the city during weekdays, or from Monday to Friday.

Moreover, Borja said that the SP committee on peace and order backed the proposed ordinance.

Due to the pandemic, students are forced to undergo the so-called blended learning where they are learning through modules or online lessons, which they take inside their respective residences.
