Pauline carries the hope of Boholanos

At 9 am today, Boholana-Belgian Pauline Amelinckx hailing from the town of Tubigon, with roots from Loay, is carrying the hope of the Boholanos that she will make the cut and will become the next country’s bet to the Miss Universe pageant.

All eyes in Bohol will be glued to television sets and perhaps, to internet video streams of the pageant as Pauline will strut her wares in the competition.

She will parade the catwalk with a sash that says BOHOL; and she will speak volumes about how proud she is to represent the people of this province.

Pauline first grabbed the limelight, at least locally, when she bagged the title of Miss Bohol 2017. 

In that competition, she managed to edge out a win over Miss Loon, Gazini Ganados.

Gazini went on to represent the country as Miss Universe Philippines 2019. She is the current holder of the title that Pauline wants to win today in Baguio City.

Knowing that she has the pedigree to win beauty titles and the record of beating the reigning Miss Universe Philippines title holder, Pauline is setting her sights to capture the most prestigious beauty title in the planet—Miss Universe.

Pauline, as mentioned above, hails from Tubigon town. She is a seasoned beauty pageant candidate having joined a number of beauty contests in the past. 

The 24-year-old lady earned her degree in International Studies major in European Studies at the Cebu Doctor’s University in Cebu, according to website viralbuzzmakers.com.

Pauline’s day job is a retail and sales consultant at CWC Interiors in Taguig City.

As part of her advocacy, Pauline helped launch the “ Hope in a Box” campaign, which seeks to help 50 kids in her hometown get books, milk and fruits. 

According to peoplaid.com, Pauline was able to capture many hearts with her charm, personality, and beauty.

Aside from capturing the title of Miss Bohol 2017, she also won the title of Miss JCI Philippines 2017.

In 2018, she joined Mutya ng Pilipinas where she performed quite well. In that competition, Pauline won two (2) awards: Mutyang Zen Institute and Miss Avon Fashion.

Pauline holds a major beauty title as she won the Miss Global Beauty Queen Philippines title during the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2018 pageant.

SKILLS MATCHING HER BEAUTY

Pauline is not just a pretty face, she has the skills to win a beauty title. Her good communication skills, evidenced by her facility to speak in the English language fluently is seen by beauty pageant observers as her edge.

Now, Pauline is competing in a bigger stage. She is aiming to capture the prestigious title of Miss Universe Philippines and become part of beauty pageant history.

The Philippines has produced four (4) Miss Universe title holders: Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray.

As she competes today, Pauline tells us why she is competing.

“ I would want to be a spokesperson and a rallying point. To bring people together in meaningful conversation, and together look for solutions. And I think that with this platform of influence, that is something I could really do,” Pauline said.

THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE

GMA News says Pauline is a girl who’s on fire as she won not just one (1), but four (4) awards during the preliminary round of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.

Pauline captured the Most Beautiful Face Award as she was awarded the Miss Creamsilk, Miss Downy Sweetheart, and Miss Cetaphil Sun, according to GMA News.

Philstar.com says Pauline has been dominating the competition as she trended on You Tube and Twitter for nailing the questions thrown at her by the judges during the question and answer portion of the preliminary round.

Philstar.com reports that because of her skills and composure during the question and answer portion, many pageant fans believe that Pauline could become the next Filipina to compete in the Miss Universe pageant.
