Balilihan LCE engages with other mayors via Zoom

The local chief executive (LCE) of Balilihan engages with other Bohol mayors in s weekly Zoom meeting discussing two (2) issues: setting the guidelines for cockfighting activities in areas under the modified general community quarantine (MCCQ); and setting the guidelines for authorized persons outside residence (APOR) traveling to Bohol.

The meeting, held on October 23, 2020 focused on the two issues above and Mayor Pureza Chatto reports that the mayors who are known to be cockfighting enthusiasts will be coming up with a set of guidelines for the cockfighting operations and educate the other mayors on a minimum standard of operation approved by the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) in adherence to strict Coronavirus disasters (Covid) protocols should cockpits be allowed to reopen.

Cockfighting is currently disallowed under the executive order of the governor.

Meanwhile, the second issue tackled by the Bohol mayors is the set of guidelines for authorized persons outside residence (APOR) traveling to Bohol. Since a set of requirements is required. by the BIATF, the mayors came up with the following:

a. Letter request stating purpose, date of arrival and departure, itinerary;

b. Letter Order/ Appointment Letter;

c. Letter of Acceptance from LGU;

d. Medical Certificate;

e. Negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) result obtained two (2) days prior to departure for APORs staying form less than 5 days. APORs staying for more than five (5) days must be quarantined; undergo RT-PCR test on the 5th day.

To make sure that everything is done properly in her town, Balilihan Mayor Pureza Chatto is shown inspecting excavation and pipelaying works in barangay Cogon of Balilihan. Done on October 21, 2020,, the inspection activity in barangay Cogon is part of the ongoing Balilihan Bulk Water Supply Project where water will be extracted from Bugwak Spring in Hanopol to be supplied to several barangays.

The water supply project is funded by the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with support from Congressman Edgar Chatto. Moreover, the project is based on the 25-year Water Master Plan of Balilihan for the benefit of 31 barangays of the said town.
