Tackled during the meeting is the preparation for an organized holding of the planned validation from November 7-13, 2020 and the cash payout on November 21, 2020 to the 2,851 indigent beneficiaries of Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) which will be handled by the staff of the Department of Social and Welfare Development Region 7. The DSWD’s UCT aims to reduce poverty by providing welfare programs without any conditions upon the receiver’s actions. It is the biggest social mitigation program under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law that seeks to provide cash grants to poor households who may not benefit from the tax cuts provided by TRAIN but may be affected by rising prices.
