The detainee of the city police station lock-up jail who bolted out of the detention facility on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, gets rearrested.
A tracking team from the Tagbilaran City Police force which conducted a manhunt operation following the detainee’s escape was able to arrest the detainee on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.
The detainee who was recaptured is identified as Ian Abendan, 27 and has been detained in the city police detention facility since June 27, 2020.
He faces charges of carnapping and frustrated murder.
According to reports, a civilian informant provided the police some tips on the whereabouts of the escaped detainee.
The information was used by the police to track down the detainee in an area in barangay Booy.
Earlier, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap Ii offered a P20,000 reward for any information on the whereabouts of the detainee who escaped.
Reports say that the civilian informant will be receiving the reward following the recapture of the detainee.
