The Bohol Integrated Development Foundation Inc. (BIDEF) turns over the motor sirens and information, education and communication (IEC) materials to the municipalities of Loay, Loboc, and Sevilla.
The turnover of the said sirens and materials transpired on November 5, 2020, according to a report from BIDEF that was sent to The Bohol Tribune.
A motor siren was given each to the towns mentioned. On the other hand, the IEC materials will be given to the 21 target barangays across the said three towns which were identified by the BIDEF to be highly vulnerable to natural disasters.
The distribution of sirens and IEC materials is facilitated under the Disaster Risk Reduction Initiatives in Vulnerable Areas Toward Effective Governance and Resilient Communities or DR²ILLS Project Implemented by BIDEF and funded by KatholischeZentralstellefürEntwicklungshilfee.V. (KZE) of Germany.
These IEC materials are composed of a total of 1,381 leaflets; 168 posters; 169 evacuation route maps; and 21 information boards.
According to the report, present during the distribution ceremony were Rev. Fr. Victor G. Bompat – President, BIDEF; Francis Bernard I. Batoy – Executive Director, BIDEF; Virginia S. Deligero – Project Coordinator, DRILLS Project; Pablio D. Sumampong – Vice-Mayor of Loboc; Juliet B. Dano – Mayor of Sevilla; representatives from various Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office; and project staff.
