Gov. Arthur Yap warns the public on scammers who use his name to place food orders and/or to ask for favors.
The governor issued the warning on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 via information relayed by Kevin Damalerio, the Capitol information cluster head.
Yap said he has received a number of reports about persons posing as the governor’s representative to place orders and ask for favors, which he, the governor, has not actually allowed.
Moreover, the governor said, the police are already informed of the situation and are currently tracking down the perpetrators.
As this developed, the governor is urging those who have been victimized by the fraud act to come out and report the incident to the authorities.
He also told the public that any person who places an order or asks for any favor and identifies himself as the governor or his representative has to be reported immediately to authorities. The identity and request of said person should also be validated first.
One can validate the request by calling the governor’s chief of staff or by dialing mobile phone number 09088983489, the Capitol report says.
