Dauis mayor chides BWUI’s water service

Dauis mayor Marrieta Sumaylo chides the less than desirable water supply service of Bohol Water Utilities Inc. (BWUI) after several residents of the said town expressed their dismay on the unannounced water service interruption.

The mayor relayed her statement in a radio interview over Open Forum on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 hosted by Ardy Batoy and Dave Albarado.

She said that she has received a number of complaints regarding the water service provided by BWUI.

As this developed, the mayor welcomed the fact that there are other water supply providers such as Richli Water Supply and Balibago Waterworks which are willing to serve Dauis residents and give BWUI a run for its money.

She intimated during the interview that her own household has shifted to BWUI’s competitor, Richli Water Supply.

Moreover, Sumaylo expressed her dismay over the kind of service being provided by BWUI.

The mayor said that previous town administration forged a pact with BWUI and vowed that if the latter would not improve its services, the contract will no longer be renewed.

For her part, Batoy expressed frustration over BWUI’s seeming lack of concern on the welfare of consumers by failing to regularly issue water supply service interruption advisories.

Moreover, Batoy called out BWUI to improve its services, it being a public utility serving the needs of Dauis consumers.
