A total of nine (9) flatboats and a paddle boat are distributed to the towns of Ubay and Carlos P. Garcia to be used in their respective marine protected areas (MPA).

This was revealed by a report from the Capitol media sent to The Bohol Tribune on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020.

Gov. Arthur Yap personally led the distribution of the said pieces of equipment on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, the same report said.

The report coming from the Capitol media bares that the total value of the pieces of equipment are pegged at P8.7 million.

The barangays of Aguining and Saguise in Carlos P. Garcia town each received three (3) flatboats.

On the other hand, the barangay of Sinandingan in Ubay gets three (3) flatboats and a paddle boat.

The boat distribution project was made possible by the initiative of the provincial government with the help of the Philippine Rural Development Project – Global Environmental Facility (PRDP-GEF), the Capitol media report reveals.

Aside from the seacraft, the project also provided floating guardhouse, MPA markers, patrolling equipment and training of those who will be guarding the MPA.

Moreover, the pieces of equipment and training to personnel manning the MPA will help effectively guard the protected areas in the two (2) said towns.
