Boholano authors Jed Madela’s new Christmas single

A Boholano songwriter releases his latest Christmas single by way of ABS-CBN Star Music, just a little over a month before Christmas Day.

According to an information obtained by The Bohol Tribune yesterday, Nov. 21, 2020, songwriter Jimmy Borja’s newest single “A Very Merry Christmas” is interpreted by world-class crooner Jed Madela.

A lyric video of the song is currently available on the You Tube channel of ABS-CBN Star Music.

In a Facebook post, Borja said,” It feels very rewarding when a world-class and exceptionally-talented singer records your song. Please support, purchase and download or stream the new Christmas song of the incomparable artist Jed Madela called ‘A Very Merry Christmas’ written by yours truly and my friend Eymard Altoveros, officially released yesterday (Nov. 20, 2020) by ABS-CBN Star Music and produced by the multi-awarded Jonathan Manalo.”

Borja added by saying, “Thank you so much Ms. Annie Tajanlangit Mercado. (Jed’s aunt and manager).”

The song is available for streaming via the music streaming app Spotify, based on the check made by The Bohol Tribune last night.

Borja, a lad from the town of Loay, is no stranger to making Christmas songs. He wrote the song Sana Ngayong Pasko originally interpreted by Ariel Rivera.

Moreover, he also wrote songs for Lani Misalucha and Kyla, among others, prior to the release of his current single.

An alumnus of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, Borja also finished accountancy at the Divine Word College now known as Holy Name University. He writes well, as claimed by The Bohol Tribune managing editor, Ardy Araneta-Batoy who used to be Borja’s professor in College. Batoy said that Borja was a staff member of THE WORD, the official organ of DWCT (now HNU) whose adviser during his schooldays was Batoy. Currently, Borja is reportedly residing in the United States.
