Meet our Man of the Week!

Mr. Cylwin Sumaylo Bomediano

A man of business excellence, generosity and humility

It is not always that you get to meet a man who has achieved a lot in life but has remained humble in his ways.

This manperson is described by his people at the ASHIRA PROPERTIES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (APDC) as “a man whose humility and business excellence are well proven in his success today; whose generosity and kindness are well built in the hearts of his employees; and whose faith and trust in the ALMIGHTY are well manifested in the daily lives of his friends and family.”

As owner, the chief executive officer (CEO) and President of APDC, he is the epitome of a person who relishes a simple and quiet life. It seems that despite being the top honcho of the country’s fastest growing real estate company, he has remained faithful to his roots of being simple and humble.

Today, he is at the helm of APDC, the real estate leader in Bohol. He also owns and manages the Ashira Estate Solutions Inc., and the property building company CYL Builders Inc.

Currently, he at the forefront of the property boom in Bohol with real estate projects ranging from the high-class to the budget-friendly developments. He is working tremendously hard to come up with world-class property development in the province Bohol with the help of his lifetime partner—APDC’s chief finance officer, Erlinda Jadraque – Bomediano.

In such a short span of time, APDC under the baton of this man is able to carve a niche in the industry because today, APDC has development projects in the city of Tagbilaran and nearby towns, such as Dauis, Baclayon, and Panglao with building projects all over the province.

Born in Tabalong, Dauis on Nov. 21, 1974, he prides over his being a product of the public school system. He finished elementary at the local Tabalong Elementary School and obtained his high school diploma at the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School. His degree in Political Science from the Arellano University is a boost to his Law Course which is taking currently. Prior to his Political Science degree, he finished Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the Bohol Island State University and Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation at the Philippine Maritime Institute in Tagbilaran City.

He never ended up as an International Seafarer or as a teacher because the lure of public service was very tempting when he was younger. Aside from his foray into real estate, he entered barangay politics where he served as the Punong Barangay of Tabalong for three terms from 1994 to 2007 and won a national award in his stint as a public servant. He also got elected as secretary of the Liga ng mga Barangay Dauis, Bohol chapter and served as such from 2004 to 2005. This is not to mention his role as Sangguniang Kabataan councilor and eventually as Sangguniang Kabataan chairman.

He also served as the municipal administrator of Dauis under the incumbency of former Dauis mayor Jimmy Jimenez and as executive assistant to Dauis Mayor Marrieta Sumaylo. He has sat as member in different councils such as the Municipal Development Council, the Municipal Peace and Order Council, Municipal Tourism Council, and the Municipal Ecological Solid Waste Management Council all in the town of Dauis for the term spanning from 1994 to 2007.

His civic involvement comes by way of the Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club. His religious activities at the “Katilingban” are indications of a commitment worthy of followership. His being a kind husband to Linda and loving father to Collin, Jeb, Ashira and Eoife are worthy of praise and commendation. His integrity in service and honesty to work are beyond doubt. He has built many edifices but finds comfort in the church he helped construct at Tinago, Dauis. He has toured several places in the world but finds his experience in the Holy Land as the most rewarding.

He is Cylwin Sumaylo Bomediano and he has achieved a lot in life because he values hard work, passion, and places God in the center of his life. He just celebrated his birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday, Sir!
