Gov. Arthur Yap orders the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) to monitor any complaints coming from the different towns regarding the rice supplies provided by the provincial government to beneficiaries especially the displaced tourism workers.
This was revealed by Kevin Damalerio, the information cluster head of the Capitol in an interview with the media on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020.
The order comes as an offshoot of the allegations that the rice support given by the provincial government to the displaced tourism workers of Loboc town emit foul odor.
Moreover, the PSWDO is tasked to determine if the rice supplies have been properly distributed to the intended beneficiaries.
On Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, Loboc mayor Leon Calipusan complained that he learned of late that the rice stocks provided by the provincial government to be distributed to the displaced tourism workers in the said town started to smell bad.
The mayor in a separate interview on Tuesday, with the media said that the rice supplies were properly stored after receipt from officials of the provincial government.
He said that the local government unit of Loboc should not be blamed why the rice supplies for Loboc beneficiaries have gone bad.
