About seven (7) barangays are placed under granular lockdown as contact tracing activities get initiated by city authorities.
This was disclosed by Gerard Lavadia, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in a telephone interview on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.
He said the barangays of Dao, Ubujan, Booy, Bool, Cogon, Poblacion 3, and Poblacion 2 are under granular lockdown.
A granular lockdown means the houses where the direct contacts are living are locked down as part of the contact tracing activities.
In a separate text message, City Health Officer (CHO) Jeia Pondoc on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, said around 115 persons have been subjected to swab tests as another batch of 70 persons underwent swab tests on Tuesday, the same day.
All of the swab samples of the first batch are submitted to the molecular laboratory located in the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH), Pondoc said in a text message.
Moreover, Pondoc characterized the Coronavirus disease (Covid) situation in Tagbilaran as “alarming”.
On the other hand, Lavadia says the situation is serious.
Currently, there are 33 active Covid cases in Tagbilaran City, with nine (9) cases touted to be of community transmission status.
