President Duterte has reportedly appointed former cabinet secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. as presidential adviser on streamlining government processes.

Malacañang announced the appointment of Evasco on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020. The position has a rank of Secretary, according to reports.

Evasco’s appointment was reportedly signed by the president on Nov. 24, 2020.

Evasco is the president’s long time ally and adviser dating back to the time the latter was a local government official in Davao City.

Evasco is a three-term mayor of Maribojoc town. He ran for the post of provincial governor of Bohol and lost to eventual winner Arthur Yap.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said Evasco’s experience and familiarity of the bureaucracy will greatly help the president in streamlining the government processes.
