Ex-BM Bobong Yap dies

Former board member Dr. Simplicio “Bobong” Yap dies. He was 74.

The former board member died in Manila and his remains were brought to Bohol to be interred here.

Yap was elected as first district board member and served from 1988 to 1992 under the administration of then Gov. Constancio Torralba and Vice Gov. Erico Aumentado.

Yap was also a former city councilor of Tagbilaran from 1980 to 1986 and once ran for the vice governor’s post.

He was one of the owners of City Pharmacy – a popular drug store in Tagbilaran. 

The late Bobong Yap was born in the City on Oct. 24, 1946. He was a businessman and a medical doctor by profession.

Moreover, he was active in the academe for having been the chairman of the board of trustees of Bohol Wisdom School.

He died in Manila on Nov. 27, 2020 and was laid to his final rest yesterday, Dec. 5, 2020. (Editor’s note: Please see related story on page 2 of  The Bohol Tribune’s Trending section under Cultural Heritage as written by Telly Gonzaga-Ocampo.)
