Capitol to hike financial support to BHW

The provincial government is set to increase its financial support to the barangay health workers (BHW).

The BHWs are going to be instrumental in the preparation for Bohol’s participation in the implementation of the universal health care (UHC) law, the governor said in a radio interview over the Capitol-produced radio program on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

As recognition to the hardwork of the BHWs, the Capitol is set to increase the financial assistance given to the BHW.

According to a report from the Capitol media, from the current financial assistance of P500 per barangay, next year, it will become P150 per BHW per barangay.

The funds will be on top of the honorarium being received by the BHWs from the barangay and municipal governments.

Yap first revealed the development during a meeting with BHW from the towns of Loboc, Sevilla,BIlar, Valencia, and Jagna, a report from the Capitol media adds.
