A former president of the University of San Carlos (USC) and Boholano priest dies at the age of 91.
In a Facebook post, the USC said Fr. Margarito Alingasa, SVD passed away on Dec. 5, 2020 at the St. Arnold Janssen Home in Tagbilaran City.
Alingasa was the second university president of the USC from 1975 to 1979.
He was a native of Tagbilaran City.
During his tenure as USC president, he oversaw the “Filipinization” of USC based on the mandate of Presidential Decree No. 176.
