Mayor Baba waits for IATF memo on mandatory face shield wearing before implementing the order

Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap says that he is awaiting the memorandum coming from the national Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) regarding the mandatory wearing of face shields on top of face masks before implementing the rule in Tagbilaran City.

He made the statement in a text message to The Bohol Tribune on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020.

The IATF orders the mandatory wearing of face shields on top of face masks for everyone whom is stepping out of their homes.

On Tuesday, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said face shield wearing is mandatory as a way to lessen the transmission of the virus causing Coronavirus disease (Covid).

Previously, wearing of face shields on top of the face masks is only required when riding public transport or entering malls or similar places.

The new policy comes as the country is bracing for a potential surge in Covid infection after the holiday season.
