Unidentified gunmen kill a woman from Dauis while the victim’s two (2) companions, including former Albur mayor Elpren Charlee “Bobec” Tungol are declared safe.

A report from the Tagbilaran police station reveals that a certain Jenalyn Matura, 30, of barangay Bingag, Dauis was killed by unidentified assailants around 4 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020.

The same report said that Matura and Tungol together with a certain Rey Duron, 35, of East Poblacion, Alburquerque town, were on board a sports utility vehicle at the time of the incident.

Upon reaching the area of Pahang St., barangay Mansasa, all of a sudden unidentified persons riding a motorcycle coming from the vicinity of Happy Valley St., appeared and approached the vehicle.

The backrider opened fire several times at the driver side of the vehicle, the same report says.

Witnesses say that the vehicle collided into the fence of Dampas Cemetery after the driver was shot and lost control of the vehicle.

Moreover, the same witnesses added that after the vehicle hit the fence, one of the suspects again opened fire, after which they fled the scene heading towards sitio Catugasan, barangay Mansasa.

As the driver was already hit, the sports utility vehicle was now being driven by another person
on board and was the one who brought Matura to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).

Unfortunately, Matura was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds.

After bringing the victim to the hospital, Tungol and Duron appeared at the Tagbilaran Police Station to report the shooting incident, according to the police’s spot report.
