The province of Bohol, Tagbilaran City, Panglao town and six (6) other local government units (LGU) bagged citations in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index awards (CNCI) facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The awards were held during the virtual 8th Regional Competitiveness Summit on December 16, 2020, according to reports from the DTI.
The province of Bohol landed as the 20th most competitive province in the country.
On the other hand, Tagbilaran City was adjudged as the most competitive component city in the Visayas.
Moreover, Tagbilaran was also declared as the 18th most competitive city in the country. It also landed in 12th place for the infrastructure category, 16th place for the most improved city, and 18th place for economic dynamism.
Furthermore, the Municipality of Panglao grabbed the 1st place for economic dynamism and the 3rd place for the most competitive municipality in the country under the 3rd-4th class municipality category. .
Likewise, the municipality of Jagna got the 7th place for the most competitive municipality in the country, 5th place for economic dynamism, 7th place for infrastructure, and 12th for government efficiency under the 3rd-4th class municipality category.
The town of Alburquerque got the 6th place in economic dynamism and the 9th most competitive municipality in the country for the 5th-6th class municipality category.
For economic dynamism, the town of Dagohoy was declared as the 13th placer, Loay town as the 14th placer, and the town of Cortes as the 16th placer under the 5th-6th class municipality category.
For insfrastructure, the town of Maribojoc was 17th placer for the 3rd-4th class municipality category.
According to the DTI, the CMCI is an annual ranking of the Philippine cities and municipalities.
The CMCI activity encourages LGUs to gather and submit data which will be used to measure their performance on Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resilience.
