Mayor John Geesnell Yap II tags the circulating rumors of a lockdown in Tagbilaran as “fake” news.

In a post in the mayor’s verified Facebook account, he denied that there is a plan by the city government to impose a lockdown in the city.

Furthermore, the mayor added that the lockdown rumor is causing “panic” among the people.

The Bohol Tribune ran a news flash on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020 that all malls in the city remain open.

Meanwhile, starting Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, the curfew hours in the city will be from 12 midnight to 4 am.

The adjusted curfew hours will last until, Saturday,

Jan. 2, 2021, the mayor said in the same post.

In the same post, Yap said he decided to adjust the curfew hours to avoid congestion as people try to beat the curfew.

Prior to the adjustment, the curfew imposed in the city is from 10 pm to 4 am.

Moreover, the mayor reminds the public that the conduct of Christmas parties and caroling is disallowed.
