Candijay opens new dancing fountain and children’s play park
The town of Candijay opens a new attraction in the town that features a dancing fountain and a children’s play park.
The twin attractions were opened to the public on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, according to Candijay Mayor Christopher Tutor in a telephone interview yesterday.
He said he was inspired by the attractions he saw abroad, thus he exerted efforts to build similar structures in his town.
According to reports, the attractions were designed as residents’ area for leisure and especially for children of the said town.
The mayor also said that the budget for the two (2) new attractions came from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
The local chief executive of Candijay said that the area where the children’s play park and the dancing fountain is located, is complete with the usual slides, swing sets, a spring rider and other amenities found on playgrounds.
Children aged three (3) to 16 years old are allowed to play inside the play park as long as they are accompanied by adults. However, a limited number of users of the play park will be allowed at any given time.
The entry will be done in batches. A batch will be allowed to play inside the playground for 15 minutes. The earlier batch needs to exit the play park after the time limit to give way to the next batch. This is being done in order to observe health and safety protocols, Tutor revealed.
For those who want to see the dancing fountain, a specific number of persons will be allowed to enter the area at any given time.
The area for the play park and the dancing fountain is open to the public every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4 pm to 8 pm, according to an information from the local government unit (LGU) of Candijay.
Health and safety protocols will be strictly enforced in the twin attractions, according to the same information from the LGU.
