The five (5) employees of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) who arrived in Tagbilaran without letters of acceptance coming from the local government unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran are now under quarantine in Alburquerque town, the port police chief bares.
In a radio interview on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 over Open Forum, port police chief Insp. Greg de la Cruz said that the PPA personnel were able to secure letters of acceptance from the LGU Alburquerque.
However, de la Cruz has no idea how the personnel were able to get acceptance letters from Albur.
He added that the personnel will be staying in an Albur quarantine facility for two (2) weeks.
It can be recalled that The Bohol Tribune ran a story on its website about the arrival of the PPA personnel early Monday morning, Jan.4, 2020 from Cebu.
The port police learned that the newly-arrived PPA employees lacked letters of acceptance and only had travel authority certificates.
He gave the personnel until end of working day last Monday to secure letters of acceptance or else they will be sent back to Cebu.
Moreover, de la Cruz said it is a huge possibility that the management of the PPA will launch a probe into the incident, probably after the personnel shall have completed their 14-day quarantine.
Earlier, in a separate text message, PPA Bohol port manager James Gantalao said the management will take appropriate action if there are any violations committed by the PPA employees.
