Police nab suspected illegal fishers in Buenavista, PCPG towns

Police arrest suspected illegal fishers in the towns of Buenavista and Pres. Carlos P. Garcia (PCPG) in two (2) separate occasions.
Reports provided to The Bohol Tribune by the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) say that both incidents happened on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.
In Buenavista, police arrested the suspects identified as Jimnard Cabido, 43, and Edward Celocia, 44, both from barangay Eastern Cabul-an, Buenavista town.
The same report reveals the suspects were engaged in their illegal fishig activity off the seawaters off Cabul-an Island in Buenavista town.
The report adds that the suspects were arrested for allegedly using dynamite as they fished. The use of dynamite is llegal under Republic Act 8550. The police seized three (3) dynamites allegedly used in the illegal fishing activity.
In PCPG town, police identified two suspects of illegal fishing activity as Ronald Tapan, 33, and Julius Batania, 40, Both are residents of  barangay Dawahon, Leyte and they were on board in boat number one. 
Moreover, on board in boat number two was the suspect identified as Jeremias Lagunda, 34, of barangay Nueva Estrella, Bien Unido town.
Meanwhile, the suspect on board boat number three was identified as Ronel Benitez, 27, of barangay Dawahon, Leyte.
Based on the reports of the police, the suspects were caught by patrolling police officers and the former were allegedly using explosives in their fishing activity off the seawaters between barangay Gaus and the island barangay of Tilmobo in PCPG town.
The suspects were taken into custody including their boats as charges will be filed against them.
