BIATF yet to receive any official communication re Mayor Ibarra’s issue

The administrator of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) says the agency has yet to receive any official communication about the allegations leveled against Mayor. Eugene Ibarra of Clarin

The Clarin mayor is being accused of protocol violation for conducting a face-to-face meeting in his home while the mayor was under home quarantine.

Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto, who is also the administrator of the BIATF gave the short statement on Jan. 14, 2021, via a text message sent to The Bohol Tribune.

It can be remembered that the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Clarin passed a resolution on Jan. 12, 2021 asking the BIATF to conduct a probe on the alleged protocol violation committed by Ibarra.

Clarin Vice Mayor Allen Rey Piezas, in a radio interview on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, said the SB is set to transmit the resolution the soonest possible time.

The issue stems from the allegations that Mayor Ibarra violated protocol when he conducted a meeting in his home with the local finance committee while the mayor was under quarantine. Reports say that the meeting between the mayor and members of the local finance committee discussed the still unapproved town budget.

Moreover, Mayor Ibarra ended his quarantine on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, according to Piezas.
