Bohol records three (3) new active Coronavirus disease (Covid) cases bringing the total active cases here to nine (9).
This was the report rendered by Dr. Tomas Cesar Lopez, spokesperson of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) on Jan. 14, 2021 via the regular virtual presser.
The report of 3 new active Covid cases comes a day after Lopez reported on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 that there was no new active case reported by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratories.
The three new active Covid cases are a resident from Tagbilaran, an authorized person outside of residence (APOR) from Tagbilaran, and a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Inabanga, Lopez reported.
He also revealed that one Covid patient from Candijay recovered from the disease.
Four cases out of the nine active cases are touted to be community transmission. The breakdown is as follows: 2 Tagbilaran residents, 1 Dauis resident, and 1 resident of Alburquerque town.
Contact tracing activities are being conducted on the 3 new active Covid cases, Lopez added.
Meanwhile, City Health Officer Jeia Pondoc, in a separate telephone interview, said that 1 of 2 active local transmission cases already recovered from the disease but will still remain in isolation for the next 7 days.
Moreover, Pondoc reported that the new active local transmission case is a 58-year-old male residing in Cogon.
On the other hand, the APOR is a 31-year-old male who arrived in Tagbilaran from Cebu, Pondoc added.
