PDC okays SIP for vaccine procurement

The Provincial Development Council (PDC) approves the supplemental investment plan (SIP) for 2021, which will be used for the procurement of vaccines by the provincial government.

This was disclosed by Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto in a text message to The Bohol Tribune on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021.

The SIP will now be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for appropriate action and crafting of a measure to earmark P100million for the purchase of Coronavirus disease (Covid) vaccine, Pioquinto added.

The P100million budget is an initial tranche of allocation coming from the provincial government for the purchase of vaccines, Gov. Arthur Yap said in an earlier interview.

In the same interview, Yap said that the frontliners will be the first ones that will be given free vaccines and the working senior citizens.

He added that the provincial government is open to work with the private sector. The governor bared that the provincial government is willing to help private enterprises to secure stocks of the vaccine that can be distributed to their respective employees.
