Dauis LGU sets aside P10M budget for vaccine purchase

The local government unit (LGU) of Dauis sets aside P10 million budget for the purchase of Covid vaccines.

In a radio interview on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Gloria Leodivica Araneta, Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo revealed that the Dauis LGU earmarked the said sum from
the town’s coffers.

The mayor clarified in the same interview that she will seek the advice of experts and ensure the vaccine that will be purchased by the town government is the safest.

She indicated in the same interview that the people of Dauis will not be forced to get inoculated with the Covid vaccine.

Meanwhile, Sumaylo said that Bohol mayors will be having a meeting this coming Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, to discuss issues regarding the purchase of the vaccine. Sumaylo is the president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Bohol chapter.
