Gov. Arthur Yap and first district Cong. Edgar Chatto test negative for Coronavirus disease (Covid) after a staff in the office of the latter tested positive for the disease.

This was confirmed to The Bohol Tribune by the spokesman of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) Dr. Tomas Cesar Lopez in a telephone interview on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021.

Lopez also confirmed that a staff in Chatto’s office tested positive for Covid. He mentioned that the health authorities immediately swabbed the governor and the first district solon upon learning the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result of the Covid-positive staff member.

All of the staff members in the office, close contacts of the Covid-positive person, including family members are currently under quarantine, he added.

Moreover, the spokesman bared that all of the office staff members, and close contacts will be subjected to swab tests on Friday.

Lopez said the staff member traveled to various towns in the province as part of his/her work.

The staff member exhibited influenza-like symptoms and was subjected to a swab test that turned out to be positive.

In a post on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, Chatto’s daughter, Atty. Patrisha Chatto revealed that she and her father tested negative for Covid. The daughter also revealed that her mother, Balilihan Mayor Pureza Chatto was not subjected to a swab test as the latter was not exposed.
