The office of Cong. Edgar Chatto facilitates the distribution of medicine stocks to some barangays located in the first district of Bohol.
The medicine distribution is part of the support extended by Chatto’s office to some barangays in his district affected by the pandemic.
Last Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, Chatto’s office, in coordination with the Provincial Government, facilitated the distribution of medicine supplies to barangays in the towns or Tubigon, and Calape.
The following day, Jan. 12, 2021, medicine stocks were distributed in the towns of Loon, Alburquerque, and Baclayon.
Moreover, medicine stocks were distributed in Balilihan town on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021.
The press release narrated that the barangay captains were the ones who received the medicine stocks from Cong. Chatto with the provincial and local officials.
Medicines for cough, fever, body pain and vitamins were distributed to barangays in the said towns, the same press release bared.
Board Members Aldner Damalerio and Ricky Masamayor were also present during the medicine distribution activities together with local government officials (LGU) of the said towns.
At the onset of the pandemic, Chatto’s office helped facilitate the distribution of face masks, face shields, food packs, alcohol, no-touch alcohol dispensers, and other items to frontliners and other Coronavirus disease (Covid)-vulnerable sectors of society.
Furthermore, Chatto’s office, also facilitated the implementation of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD), which is a program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The distribution of wages for the last batch of workers under the said program is ongoing.
In cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), some beneficiaries from the first district were able to avail themselves of various programs of the government such as the Special Training for. Employment Program (STEP); Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA); and Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).
Under these programs, beneficiaries honed their skills and capabilities by enrolling in vocational courses such as Bread and Pastry Production, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Bread and Pastry Production, Preparing and Cooking Hot Meals (Leading to Cookery), Dressmaking, Driving, Bread and Pastry Production, Tailoring, Masonry, Raising Organic Hogs (Leading to Organic Agriculture Production), Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Tourism Promotion Services, Housekeeping, Events Management Services, Bookkeeping, Trainers Methodology, Caregiving, and Cookery.
Chatto also distributed information and education materials for posting in barangay halls as a way to support the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force’s (BIATF) campaign on washing of hands, wearing of masks, and social distancing.
