Montero bares plan to acquire vaccines for Panglaoanons

Panglao mayor Leonila Montero bares that she is moving towards the acquisition of anti-Coronavirus disease (Covid) vaccines for Panglaoanons.

She bared her plan to acquire vaccines for the people of Panglao in a radio interview over the local government unit (LGU) Panglao-produced radio program What’s On In Panglao, hosted by Chandymar Batoy on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.

However, she did not reveal more details as she will still look for funding to be used in the procurement of vaccines. The mayor also did not disclose if she has chosen a particular vaccine supplier.

In a related development, Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo, who is also the president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) -Bohol chapter said in a radio interview, Bohol town mayors will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, to discuss plans on the procurement and rollout of anti-Covid vaccines.

Sumaylo in the same radio interview on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, added that her town is allocating P10million for the procurement of vaccines for Dauisanons.

Meanwhile, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II indicated that the city government will be using its P15 million budget to procure vaccines manufactured by AstraZenica.

Moreover, the mayor in a post last week, said the city government opened the pre-registration for senior citizens and persons with disability who wish to get inoculated with the free anti-Covid vaccines.
