BPPO: Crime incidence in Bohol drops in 2020 compared to 2019

The crime incidence in Bohol drops in 2020 compared to 2019 based on statistics released by Camp Dagohoy according to a report from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

The report from the PIA says the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) recorded 2,843 less crimes in 2020 compared to 2019.

The BPPO says there were 7,321 crimes recorded in 2020 compared to 10, 164 crimes logged in 2019.

The report bares that increased police visibility and presence in the communities contributed immensely in the drop of crime incidents in the province.

Camp Dagohoy records show that 72.98 percent of crimes commited in 2020 were considered solved compared to 57.15 percent of crimes considered as solved in 2019.

A crime is considered solved when the suspect is already arrested and charged in court, the PIA report says.
