Yap says he will resign as governor if anybody can prove he owns a house in Baclayon

Gov. Arthur Yap said that he is willing to step down as governor if anyone can prove he owns a mansion in Baclayon town.

The governor reacted to the insinuations that he has a mansion in Baclayon aired over NEWSMAKERS program over DYTR, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado on Jan. 26, 2021.

The governor said that he has a house in Loboc and stays in a small apartment in J.A. Clarin which is the house of his mother-in-law.

“When you say in Baclayon, no. I don’t have a house in Baclayon. I rented a house when I came back from Manila for my quarantine,” the governor said during the interview.

The governor said he is willing to be investigated by anybody about this insinuation that he has ownership of a mansion in Baclayon.

“Ako willing mo-resign on the spot kun mapamatud-an nga ang balay sa Baclayon akoa na. I am willing to resign in my position,” the governor added.

Yap then asked his critics what they [the critics] are willing to do if Yap would prove them wrong.

A known critic of the governor posted on Jan. 21, 2021 allegations that Yap owns a mansion in Baclayon.

On Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, the governor slammed what he called as “destructive politics” by way of insinuating that he owns house in Baclayon.
