Tagb holds pet blessing activity
Pet owners in Tagbilaran are invited to join the free pet blessing activity spearheaded by the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO), a report from the City Media Bureau bares.
According to Dr. Genette Egos of the CAVO, the pet blessing activity was first held at the City Hall grounds and will also be conducted in all 15 barangays of the city, to avoid overcrowding and to ensure adherence to the health and safety protocols.
The pet blessing activities will be held on the following dates and places: February 1, 2021 at Taloto; February 2, 2021 at Ubujan; February 3, 2021 at Manga; February 4, 2021 at Mansasa; February 8, 2021 at Bool; February 9, 2021 at Dampas; February 10, 2021 at Dao;February 11, 2021 at Cogon; February 15, 2021 at Tiptip; February 16, 2021 at San Isidro; February 17, 2021 at Cabawan, and February 18, 2021 at Poblacion 1.
The initial pet blessing activity already took place on the following dates and places: January 22, 2021 in the City Hall Grounds; January 26 2021, Poblacion 3; January 27, 2021 at Poblacion 2; and January 28, 2021 at Booy.
All pet blessing activities are scheduled at 3:30 in the afternoon at the covered court of the respective barangays. The event will not last for more than an hour.
Hence, pet owners are encouraged to leave the area as soon as the ceremony is over to avoid any pet related accidents such as heatstrokes, dog fights, and other stress-induced emergencies involving the pets.
Moreover, the staff members of the CAVO are on standby to provide first aid relief to the pets.
Pet owners are also advised to bring their own pet’s accessories such as leash, carriers, bottled water, food snacks, towels or wipes and animal waste bags, among others.
The CAVO strongly encourages that a pet owner should bring one (1) pet only and that the pet must be leashed or placed in its carrier unless the pet is trained to behave properly.
Authorities will strictly impose health and safety protocols such as wearing of face mask, face shield and observance of social distancing.
